Kira Kids Spring-Summer 2015 sneak peek!

I have been in love with Kira Kids after seeing their cool AW14 collection last season (Check it out here). I purchased some sweatshirts for O. from their webshop and was just amazed with the super soft and light terry fabric apart from the quirky and really awesome design. It really is the kind you just want to live in day and night! Even her dad was a bit jealous wanting one for him also ;)

Anyways, it got me intrigued and so I got to ask the designer, Cristine Tang, a couple of questions regarding their new, upcoming collection which you can see below.

What were some of your inspirations behind the new collection? How much does SS15 differ from SS14?

My new Spring/Summer 2015 collection "Let's Get Lost Together", is inspired by daydreams of Hawaii trips and my obsession with food especially tropical fruits and burgers. I have also added many new styles to this collection including summer dresses, baby bloomers, tank top onesies and amazingly soft french terry shorts.

What can we look forward to for SS15 and AW15? Could you spare hints as to what customers can expect to see? Anything different with the styles, fabric, or color choices?

For 2015, we have been concentrating on sourcing high quality sustainable, non toxic fabrics and improving the fit of each of our garments. I am happy to announce that this season, all of our cotton styles are 100% certified organic cotton! And as usual, the entire collection is made locally in sunny Los Angeles, California!

What is your favorite item from the new SS15 line?

My favorite piece from the new Spring/Sumer 2015 line is the fun Banana Rama Tank Onesie! It is made from super soft 100% organic cotton and is printed all over with my hand drawn nerdy banana buddies.

I love that Kira Kids is Los Angeles-based and produced locally. Is it important for you to manufacture garments in the USA, if so, why is that?

It was important for me produce my line locally in Los Angeles because I wanted to be able to be closely involved and understand each part of how my garments are made. Through this, I've truly grown an appreciation for manufacturing and the people that make it happen. Keeping the production in California is also important because it contributes to our communities and helps to grow our local economy.

The new Kira Kids spring collection will be out in about two weeks but until then you can still get some really stylish hot dogs (love them!), monsters and pretzels from their former collection in their webshop. To be sure not to miss the release you can follow them on Instagram or Facebook where you can also already see more goodies from the new collection ;)

Don't forget to join the KID family for more cool kids fashion and style inspiration ;)
